Executive Placement: Robin Kerr Named Executive Director with the YWCA–Monterey County

Please join CVNL in welcoming Robin Kerr as Executive Director with the YWCA–Monterey County, starting July 5, 2016. A key partner and resource to the YWCA-Monterey County Board of Directors and with all staff throughout the agency, Robin brings a strong background in nonprofit leadership and fundraising with local, regional and statewide agencies.

YWCA-Monterey County Board President, Krista Hanni, said of the appointment, “On behalf of the Board, I am thrilled to have Robin join the YWCA Monterey County team as Executive Director. Robin brings a unique combination of experience as an Executive Director – with the Child Abuse Prevention Councils of Madera and Fresno Counties, as Statewide Multi-disciplinary Team Coordinator with the Center for Innovation and Resources, Inc., and as Director of Institutional Advancement with the San Joaquin College of Law. Because of her deep understanding and commitment to YWCA-Monterey County’s mission to eliminate racism, empower women and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all, I know that Robin will be a true strategic partner with the Board and an effective leader for our complex organization.”

Robin has worked for more than 15 years in the non-profit sector and brings direct experience in children’s advocacy, child abuse prevention programs, compliance with legislative mandates, fundraising, grant writing, strategic planning, communications, and building alliances. Robin was directly responsible for the expansion and implementation of the GraceCity mobile app into Fresno and Madera counties. The app is designed to provide automated resources on human trafficking. In addition, Robin was responsible for creating Multidisciplinary Interview Centers for both children who are victims of abuse and women of domestic violence, along with witnesses to crime in Fresno County and at Valley Children’s Hospital in Madera County.

Robin obtained a Master’s of Jurisprudence degree in Children’s Law and Policy from Loyola University, Chicago, and a B.S. in Criminology, option in Victimology from California State University, Fresno, where she also earned a Victim Services Certificate. Robin volunteers extensively and currently supports the Clovis Unified School District, United Way of Fresno County and the California Essentials for Childhood Initiative.

“I am excited to promote the mission and critical programs of the YWCA-Monterey County,” Robin said. “As Executive Director, I look forward to working with the Board and staff to build a strong organization that is able to make a real difference in the lives of women, children and families throughout Monterey County.”

Please join us in welcoming Robin as the new Executive Director for the YWCA-Monterey County.
