Interim Executive Director Training

The Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership is seeking individuals for our Interim Executive Director pool.  An Interim Executive Director provides a bridge between the outgoing and incoming Director. An Interim provides stability, giving the Board time to carefully engage in the search process for a permanent leader.

More than a manager, an Interim Executive Director offers board, staff, volunteers and stakeholders an opportunity to deal with change and support the healing of the sense of loss for a founder or beloved director. For an organization in crisis, a seasoned Interim Director can stabilize or even change a culture and help make way for new permanent leadership. An expert interim Director can use this time to strengthen the staff and board and help build a team to welcome and work well with the new Executive Director.

We are conducting our first Interim Executive Director Training in two years.  It will be offered at the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership on July 12th and 13th, from 9-4 PM.  The training will be led by Melissa Breach, Program Director, Linda Davis, CEO, and other presenters including a panel of current Interim Executive Directors.
