brings to CVNL more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and consulting for organizations in areas as varied as public broadcasting, the environment, health and the visual and performing arts. With a passion for supporting nonprofit organizations in achieving their mission and serving their communities, Janette is dedicated to identifying, recruiting and training the best leaders while facilitating successful organizational transitions. She draws upon her extensive knowledge and direct experience as a board member, executive director, interim executive, and senior program director for nonprofits of various budget sizes and in diverse communities locally, nationally and internationally to provide professional recruiting services and interim executive placement. Janette works closely and collaboratively with board members, search committees, executive directors, senior staff and all stakeholders to locate and recruit the best leaders for the nonprofits whose success is the mission of CVNL.
Janette has worked with nonprofits in all stages, from the start-up of the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation to the turn-around of a 30 year-old nonprofit performing arts organization.
Janette has served on the boards of Central Market Community Business District, Community Media Center of Marin, National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, Bay Area Council Program Advisory Board, Association of Regional News Channels and the Radio and Television News Directors Association. Janette has been awarded a Koret Israel Prize for Leadership, a George Foster Peabody Award, four National Iris Awards, an Ohio State Award and nine Northern California Emmy Awards. She majored in communications and journalism at the University of Minnesota, completed an Executive Training Program at Stanford University and has a Bachelor’s degree from Skidmore College with a focus on organizational development.
