Civic Engagement Leadership Team (CELT)
Service should be a part of the mix of post-retirement
activities. Healthy aging means staying involved, being creative and making
new relationships.
RespectAbility Marin
National Council On Aging - CVNL Recognition
In June 2007, the Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership of Marin was one of the winners of the National Council on Aging’s RespectAbility Models of Significant Service (MSS) grants. These grants were awarded to nonprofit organizations developing entrepreneurial approaches for attracting and supporting adults 55+ to fill important leadership roles in the community. This dissemination guide features key findings and data from that initiative. Nonprofits interested in attracting and engaging older adults in their organizations are encouraged to read this guide.

The RespectAbility Marin Leadership Team will work in the areas
of human resource, executive and management issues, training, board development
and business/strategic planning. Members of the Leadership Team will be
at the heart of the Center’s mission: to promote volunteerism and
to strengthen the delivery of services by nonprofits in Marin. Team volunteers
will also help nonprofits develop more challenging opportunities and work
with nonprofit organizations to become more competent in working with
highly skilled volunteers.

Civic Engagement
Leadership Team
The Center has launched its new Civic Engagement Leadership Team (CELT).
For the first time, the Center will be able to provide pro-bono leadership
service to nonprofit member organizations for projects focusing on building
infrastructure, improving systems and building institutional knowledge.
Our goal is to strengthen the delivery of vital community services in
Marin. We now have over twenty persons who want to take on Leadership
Service Projects. These individuals have financial, business, human resource,
marketing and executive management backgrounds. CELT members are available
for technical assistance or for more formal, short-term projects. We are
encouraging all member agencies to submit Leadership Service Projects
for this new venture.
