Nominations are now open for the 27th Annual Heart of Marin Awards!

SAN RAFAEL, CA, September 12, 2019 – Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) has opened their call for nominations for the 27th Annual Heart of Marin Awards. Everyone is encouraged to honor the contributions and achievements of nonprofits and leaders who help make our community healthier, happier, and more equitable by submitting nominations online.

“Due to our full lives and busy schedules, we often forget to pause and reflect on the good work that has been accomplished in our communities,” said Linda Jacobs, CEO of CVNL. “Heart of Marin encourages the whole community to share what nonprofits and volunteers have done to make a difference – and thank them for their contributions.”

As the largest recognition event in the county, Heart of Marin gives $35,000 to outstanding nonprofits and the committed individuals who serve them. Nominations will be accepted in the following award categories: Lifetime Achievement (sponsored by Kaiser Permanente), Excellence in Leadership (sponsored by Marin Community Foundation), Achievement in Nonprofit Excellence (sponsored by Nugget Markets), Volunteer of the Year (sponsored by EACH Foundation), Corporate Community Service (co-sponsored by PG&E and BioMarin), Excellence in Innovation (sponsored by Comerica Bank), Excellence in Board Leadership (co-sponsored by EO Products and Bregante+Company, LLP), Youth Volunteer of the Year (sponsored by Redwood Credit Union). Presenting Sponsor for the 27th Annual Heart of Marin Awards is Bank of Marin, and the Media Sponsor is the Marin Independent Journal.

The Awards Ceremony and Luncheon will take place on Thursday, January 9th, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Marin Center Exhibit Hall. All nominees and recipients will be honored at the January event.

“These events are a true gift that keep on giving,” said Melissa Stoakley, Event Coordinator. “It’s an honor to manage this event and meet the individuals who dedicate their lives to lift our most vulnerable populations, endangered lands, and cultural institutions. The nominee’s stories are what bring me the most satisfaction and inspiration in my job.”
