Sonoma County Human Race Brings in $111,000, To Date, for Local Community.
Saturday, May 13th, Over 750 People Gathered in Downtown Santa Rosa to Race and Raise Funds for Sonoma County Nonprofits. Fundraising Continues Through May 26th with A Goal of Raising an Additional $25,000.
Sonoma County, CA, May 16, 2023 —The Sonoma County Human Race returned to Courthouse Square, Santa Rosa, Saturday, May 13th, on a brilliantly sunny and warm Mother’s Day weekend. An established icon in Sonoma County, The Human Race has raised over $25 million for nearly 7,700 local nonprofits over the past 38 years.
This year’s Human Race drew a crowd of approximately 700-800 community members on Saturday, and has brought in a total of over $111,000, to date, for our community. The fundraiser aims to raise and additional $25,000 in donations for local nonprofits by May 26th, 2023. Donations can be made online at www.humanracenow.org.
“Sonoma County Human Race honors the important work being done by local organizations to better our communities,” said Linda Jacobs, CEO of CVNL. “The Human Race brings together people of all ages, sizes, ethnicity and abilities – One Human Race to support our community. Saturday’s race was full of great energy, big smiles, and fun costumes! We so appreciate everyone coming out to support our local nonprofit community,” says Jacobs. “Now our focus is on meeting the fundraising needs for our participating nonprofits. 502 individuals of all ages participated in the race. Race results and top finishers are available online. Walkers, rollers, strollers and costumes of all nature – from bananas, to tutus, to pineapples all made for a spirited and fun gathering. Presenting Sponsor Redwood Credit Union’s mascot, ‘Reddy’ the Redwood, danced and cheered racers and participants across the finish line.
