CVNL Volunteer Opportunity Highlights

This past Saturday, Sept 19, was California’s statewide Coastal Cleanup Day!

We want to give a big thank you to our group of volunteers who cleaned up trash near Pickleweed Park in the Canal in San Rafael. They were among the 200 volunteers who helped pick up over three thousand pounds of trash across several locations in San Rafael. Thank you for the great work, and kudos to the City of San Rafael for coordinating the city’s successful Coastal Cleanup Day.

CVNL’s Flexible Volunteer Program (FLEX) is still accepting applications

Only have 3 open spots remaining for this year’s FLEX Projects!

We know that volunteers are looking for regular, small group, meaningful, hands-on, done-in-a-day projects that last 1-3 hours (particularly on afternoons or evenings or weekends). We also know that you could use a partner to help manage your projects. CVNL’s FLEX Program recruits 5-10 volunteers who are managed by our Project Leaders. Learn more about FLEX. Complete your FLEX Project Proposal now and email it to Jaimie Baxter at jbaxter@cvnl.org to be one of 10 nonprofits that CVNL partners with for 6-months to 1-year. Questions? Contact jbaxter@cvnl.org.

The FLEX Program is a free CVNL Member benefit.

If you’re not already a Member, find out about membership opportunities.

We are also still accepting FLEX Project Leader applications

Whether you’re a high school or college student, a professional, or recent retiree, becoming a Project Leader can help CVNL offer the community even more meaningful ways to volunteer. Project Leaders work closely with CVNL staff to create and sustain recurring community service projects. As a Project Leader, you will have an active, hands-on role in leading and managing volunteers, and overseeing impactful on-site activities. View/download the application and email it to jbaxter@cvnl.org.

Partner with us to celebrate a Day of Service

Each year, millions of volunteers around the world have united in a common mission to improve the lives of others. CVNL is looking for nonprofits who would like to partner for Days of Service opportunities, which take place on national service days that encourage volunteers to participate with nonprofit organizations in service opportunities, events or activities. We are also looking for companies and other groups who would like to give a day of bonding and team-building while making an impact in their community. CVNL’s Days of Service include Make a Difference Day, MLK Jr. Day, Family Volunteer day, and many more. If you would like to host a project, sponsor and/or volunteer with your team on a Day of Service in 2015-2016 and make a difference in communities across the Bay Area, please contact mcruz@cvnl.org.
