Position Summary:
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resources Sr. HR & Recruiting Manager in the design, implementation and administration of multiple HR programs, systems and procedures including full-cycle recruitment, onboarding and training; HRIS systems administration; compliance and reporting; workplace culture and staff engagement; and maintains personnel records.
Full-time exempt position: Based off a 4-day, 32-hour work week.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 9am to 5pm
Location: San Rafael, with occasional WFH opportunity.
Essential Functions:
- Manage personnel files and our HRIS system (Paylocity), maintaining confidentiality and consistency. Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR policies.
- Provide New Hire Orientations to ensure a great onboarding experience where new employees and their supervisors feel supported.
- Manage recruiting efforts at Canal Alliance in collaboration with other members of the HR team and hiring managers. Activities include developing job specifications, sourcing of applicants, conducting screenings, conducting reference checks and to implement a consistent applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Support the coordination of internal communications and record-keeping.
- Help organize and facilitate training and development programs for employees and track and ensure completion of required training for all staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field of study; or equivalent preferred
- At least three years of Human Resources experience
- A proactive and flexible mindset with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Experience handling confidential and sensitive matters with empathy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent customer service and people skills with a willingness to go the extra mile
- Experience with HR software and databases, including reporting
- Experience with (phone and in-person) interviews, candidate screening and evaluation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

This is a full-time, exempt position with benefits. We offer a competitive salary with a benefits package that includes:
