Training Series

CVNL ACADEMY Leadership Training Series programs address topics vital to the well being of nonprofits.

Board Governance Series, 2 parts (Marin and Napa)

Nonprofit board members enrich and govern an organization with their personal expertise, connections, and passion for the cause—and yet, they don’t always come to the job with experience in things like nonprofit fundraising or governance. CVNL knows what a strong, smart board looks like—and how critical it is for the health of an organization. Our two-part series on board governance helps help organizations diagnose their boards’ needs and equip their members with the right resources to take their leadership to the next level:

Part 1: Roles & Responsibilities — Marin
Part 1: Roles & Responsibilities — Napa

Part 2: Structures & Practices — Marin
Part 2: Structures & Practices — Napa

Mindfulness Series, 8 sessions in partnership with Pepperdine University

Mindfulness is often viewed as either a touchy-feely fad or valuable management tool that can lift an entire workplace. A new comprehensive analysis of mindfulness research suggests the latter — that injecting a corporate culture of mindfulness not only improves focus, but the ability to manage stress and how employees work together.

CVNL is partnering with Pepperdine University to support research around nonprofit leadership and benefits of mindfulness — Mindfulness for Leadership Focus & Results — for up to 16 participants. The class will meet once a week for 60 minutes and focus on new and intriguing aspects of science-based mindfulness practices that are proven to improve your sense of well-being and maximize your potential as a leader in your organization. This is a part of a Pepperdine research study so there will be no cost to participate, outside of material fees. Download the flyer
