Be the true gift this holiday season — volunteer with the Holiday Assistance Program in Napa

An opportunity to spread holiday cheer to families in need throughout December

NAPA, CA — Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) invites people to participate in this year’s Holiday Assistance Program. The Holiday Assistance Program has been providing supplementary food and toys to families in need throughout Napa for the past 17 years. The program is run by a coalition consisting of The Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, Toys for Tots, Napa Valley Food Bank, Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership, and Queen of the Valley. Approximately 1,400 families with an estimated 4,000 children are registered with the program.

The Holiday Assistance Program offers volunteer opportunities for individuals or groups aged 16 or over who are interested in projects that can be done on weekday afternoons, evenings, or weekends. These “done-in-a-day” activities require no prior training or long-term commitment. Volunteers can choose from a variety of activities including sorting toys, filling boxes, distributing toys and food, and displaying toys and stocking stuffers into Toy Joy Shop. The activities will take place at Grace Church on Solano Avenue, Napa, in the classrooms at the rear of the building.
