is originally from San Mateo, CA, in the Bay Area. She recently graduated from Dominican University, earning BAs in both International Studies and History. She was an active student in Campus Ministry and on-campus, organizing and managing several campus-wide social events and fundraisers. She was an avid volunteer, participating in service-learning courses, community service projects, and in service trips to Washington State, Mexico, and El Salvador. Melissa has experience with food banks, community fairs, Habitat for Humanity, youth engagement, and research. As a V.I.P AmeriCorps member committing to 1700 hours until August 2016, she will support CVNL with: centralizing and updating CVNL’s internal volunteer program, including fully developed roles/procedures/tracking; coordinating Days of Service projects; managing social media for Volunteer Services; and supporting Services Enterprise Initiative program, CVNL Volunteer Fair & other events, disaster relief support, and FLEX volunteer program.
