Volunteers have embraced our new Òself-serveÓ resource center for tutoring and preparing for lessons. We transformed what was a traditional low tech office with 3 full-time union employees and 4 other contract staff folks into a resource and tutoring center with a small amount of community funds. By upgrading to a new database management system and going through the past ten years worth of paper files, we re-engaged almost 35 tutors who had drifted away.
