Bay Area Urban Areas Security Initiative (UASI) — Organization & Personal Preparedness

TO REGISTER: Visit https://batep.org/?p=home

This series, presented as two Zoom webinars on Wednesday October
28th, will include:

Part 1 (9am – 11am):
An in-depth 2-hour training about Organizational Preparedness, including learning how to craft a
disaster mission statement, forming teams for support, learning about the value of collaborations – where are your allies? – and receiving an agency template for preparedness. Participants will leave the webinar with a list of concrete next steps, along with support to complete them.

Part 2 (11:30am – 12:30pm): an hour of Personal Preparedness tips and best practices; includes what should be in your go-kit and your home supplies. What’s in your family plan? Why does it make sense for organizations to encourage their staff to be personally prepared for emergencies – whether it is an earthquake, wildfire or pandemic. We will also do some concrete goal setting – with follow-up when participants achieve success. Participants will then take a step towards organizational Preparedness by reviewing threats an organization may face, and what elements are in an organizational plan.
