Lunch and Learn: Self-Care and Leadership

4/9/2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM PT

Leaders need self-care, too.
How we care for ourselves affects organizational culture and performance

While employees should always prioritize their mental and emotional health, it’s even more vital during a global pandemic. In a Market Watch research survey, nearly 70% of U.S. workers said that COVID-19 is the “most stressful time” of their entire professional careers, even when compared to events like the Great Recession and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. As a result of coronavirus-related stress, productivity is dropping at a time when organizations need to remain more agile than ever.

In this interactive Lunch and Learn, learn practices that will support your personal self-care and help you create a culture of empathy and compassion as a result. Jessica Grace-Gallagher, CVNL’s Volunteer Services Manager for Sonoma County, will guide you through a process of discovering what self-care means to you, and how to prioritize your ever-evolving needs as a leader. Walk away better able to prioritize your mental and emotional well-being so you can continue leading within your organization both during and after the pandemic. This session will include a self-care quiz and breakout rooms. Feel free to "bring your lunch!"
