Amelia grew up on the Central Coast of California and has fond memories of school field trips to
San Francisco and the Marin Headlands. Her interest in nonprofit work can be traced back to
these memories of outdoor adventures and visiting museums like the California Academy of
Sciences.
She returned to the Bay Area to complete her master’s in Museum Studies at the University of
San Francisco. During her graduate studies Amelia gained a passion for environmental education
and accessibility within the museum space. For her graduate capstone, she worked with Five
Oaks Museum in Portland, Oregon to develop an in-classroom curriculum program on White
Oak tree ecology in the Tualatin Valley. She has worked in nonprofit education at museums in
San Francisco and Portland, Oregon and most recently as a Project Associate at a nonprofit
consulting group in Santa Barbara.
In her free time, you can find her in local museums, hiking in the mountains, or reading fiction
books with her dog, Obi.
