CVNL Community Equity Scholarship

Purpose: Consistent with our core values of enhancing connections, contributions, and care among staff and volunteers in the nonprofit ecosystem of Marin, Napa, Sonoma, and Solano Counties, CVNL has established the Community Equity Scholarship to address ongoing social, economic, and professional barriers to leadership development in the nonprofit sector.

This  scholarship  supports first-generation professionals  and  professionals entering the nonprofit sector for the first time, providing opportunities to grow as leaders and make meaningful community contributions. Funders who share our core values, mission, and vision of equity and social justice make this initiative possible.

Support: CVNL will determine the level of scholarship support based on funding availability for its Learning & Leadership programs, which are offered in two terms, Term 1 (July – December) and Term 2 (January – June). Scholarships provide partial financial assistance (up to 40%) toward the standard program tuition cost and may not be combined with early-bird pricing or other discounts.

Qualifications: Applicants must be nonprofit staff or volunteers located in Marin, Napa, Sonoma, or Solano Counties and meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • First-generation professionals: Individuals who are the first in their immediate family to enter a professional career.
  • Professionals entering the nonprofit sector: Individuals who have transitioned into the nonprofit field from another sector within the past two years.
  • Staff or volunteers at organizations or nonprofits with an annual budget under $100,000.

Applicants may receive one scholarship per term per program. CVNL may prioritize applicants from CVNL member organizations and individuals who have not previously received scholarship funding. All scholarship awards are subject to eligibility, qualifications, and the availability of funds.
