CVNL Placement Announcement: Christi Rossi Named Director of Development for Diabetes Youth Families

On April 20, 2017, Christi Rossi will join Diabetes Youth Families (DYF) in Concord as Director of Development. DYF is a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving the lives of children, teens and families affected by type-1 diabetes.

Christi will be responsible for all aspects of Diabetes Youth Families’ fundraising programs, events and activities while expanding and maintaining DYF’s critical relationships with volunteers and donors. Christi will support the Executive Director and develop an action plan to ensure successful communication and fundraising initiatives.

Diabetes Youth Families Executive Director Janet Kramschuster said, “We are so pleased to welcome Christi to the Diabetes Youth Families team. Her passion for our mission and experience in fund development ensure that she will hit the ground running to help us achieve our goals.”

Christi has worked for more than 13 years with nonprofit organizations in fund development, most recently as Associate Director of Development for Carondelet High School. Her prior experience includes successfully managing the 100th Aniversary Campaign for Girls, a 5-year campaign to raise $20 million for Girl Scouts of Northern California, Development Manager for the National MS Society, and Special Events Manager for Larkin Street Youth Services. Her broad-based experience has provided her with a strong background in strategic planing, events management, grant writing, fundraising, annual giving campaigns and all aspects of donor cultivation.

“I am thrilled to join Diabetes Youth Families, an organization with a rich history and dynamic mission. I look forward to working in collaboration with the Board of Directors and staff to move the strategic and fundraising plans forward.”

Founded in 1938, the organization is a leader in helping children and their families gain confidence and mastery in managing diabetes through weekend and week-long camps and educational programs that serve more than 2,000 individuals anually. DYF believes that every child with T1D, and their family members, should have the benefit of our lifesaving programs and works year round to raise the necessary funds to meet the demand for our services.
