Executive Placement: Marilyn Lovelace-Grant named Director of Human Resources with Catholic Charities

On May 11, 2016 Marilyn Lovelace-Grant joined Catholic Charities in the position of Director of Human Resources. As a key partner and resource to the executive director and leadership teams plus all staff throughout the agency, Marilyn brings strategic nonprofit Human Resources experience at local and national levels.

Catholic Charities Executive Director Jeff Bialik said, “Marilyn’s extensive experience as a career Human Resources professional and, more specifically, her prior HR work with Catholic Charities of the East Bay, provides her a deep understanding and appreciation of Catholic Charities’ values of respect, compassion and accountability. Marilyn will be a true strategic partner, helping to effectively manage and support our more than 600 employees who touch the lives of more than 35,000 people each year through our extensive collection of programs.”

Marilyn has worked for more than 20 years in the nonprofit sector and brings direct experience in strategic planing, employee relations, communications, change management, public speaking and building alliances. Her rich HR history includes work with Catholic Charities of the East Bay where she held the position of Human Resources Director and Deputy Director for 8 years. She worked for 9 years as Director of Human Resources and Operations with The National Writing Project, an education nonprofit with more than 200 sites nationwide. Marilyn also directed Human Resources for the City of Alameda Housing Authority and for the San Lorenzo Unified School District. Marilyn obtained a Master’s degree in Public Administration from California State University East Bay, and a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Francisco.
