Session 1: The Manager's Role 

5/26/2022, 9am-12pm, virtual via Zoom

Whether you are entering a management role for the first time or have been managing people for years, this session will provide a helpful framework. Learn about the unique role of manager and gain knowledge about management principles, management and leadership styles, and how emotional intelligence supports performance. 

Session will cover:

  • Assessment, Management & Leadership Styles, Emotional Intelligence
  • Situational Leadership, Forming/Storming/Norming/Performing model
  • Transitioning from a functional role to manager of people
  • Management principles
  • Mythbusters – What is and isn’t the role of the manager?

Your expert faculty will give an overview of management principles, the role of a manager and the change in mindset when you move from managing projects as a functional member of a team to managing a team of people.  
 

This is the first session in the Management Essentials series. While you can attend any session individually, the series as a whole will provide you with a comprehensive set of skills to accelerate your management capacity. Participants that attend all five sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion and a significant tuition discount.

Cancellation policy: If plans change and you are no longer able to attend, we will transfer your enrollment and payment to the next program cycle. Funds must be applied and used within a 6 (six) month period. We do not offer refunds.
