Sonoma County Human Race 5k Fundraiser for Local Nonprofits Returns Saturday, May 4th, Uniting Community with 500-600 Enthusiastic Attendees

Sonoma County, CA, April 30, 2024 — Get ready for an exhilarating event as the Sonoma County Human Race, a beloved 5K run, walk, and roll fundraiser benefiting Sonoma County nonprofits, returns to Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa, CA, on Saturday, May 4th. A staple in Sonoma County’s charitable landscape, The Human Race has raised an impressive $25 million for nearly 7,700 local nonprofits since its inception in 1981.

Anticipation is high for this year’s race, expected to draw a vibrant crowd of 500-600 enthusiastic community members. Whether participating in the race or cheering from the sidelines, attendees can experience the heart of the event at the Community Village. Here, local businesses and nonprofits showcase their offerings, while the Kids Zone provides games, face-painting, and free activities for all ages. Music and announcements will be broadcast from KZST’s main stage adding to the festive atmosphere as racers cross the finish line to cheers and applause.

The Sonoma County Human Race not only promotes fitness and community engagement but also serves as a crucial platform for nearly 40 participating nonprofits to raise awareness and vital funds for their services in the community. It’s a celebration of unity and support for the impactful work being done across Sonoma County.

Organized by the Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) and generously supported by Presenting Sponsor Redwood Credit Union and other esteemed sponsors, the 2024 Sonoma County Human Race promises to be a memorable event that fosters unity, fitness, and philanthropy.

Registration to participate in the race is open online through Friday, May 3^rd. In person registration opens at 7 AM on Saturday, May 4^th. The race begins at 8 AM starting and ending at Old Courthouse Square, Santa Rosa, CA. Sonoma County Human Race Community Village is free and open for all community members to enjoy. CVNL invites community members to come out and enjoy the activities and cheer on Sonoma County’s local nonprofits and fundraisers.
