Saturday, May 4th, 2024, Sonoma County Human Race, Old Courthouse Square, Santa Rosa, CA

This year’s Sonoma County Human Race, held on May 4th, 2024, brought together over 350 participants despite a late spring rainstorm. Hosted at Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa, this iconic event serves as a cornerstone for community fundraising efforts, supporting vital local nonprofits across Sonoma County. The dedication of individuals, teams, nonprofits, and business sponsors has once again showcased the power of grassroots initiatives in making a positive impact.

A Legacy of Giving Back

Since its inception in 1981, the Human Race has become synonymous with generosity and community spirit. Over the years, it has raised an impressive $25 million for nearly 7,700 local nonprofits, highlighting the enduring commitment of Sonoma County residents to support their communities.

Rallying for a Cause

Despite the weather affecting the actual turnout, the enthusiasm and support from participants remained unwavering. The 2024 Sonoma County Human Race has already raised an impressive $102,052 for local nonprofits, with fundraising efforts ongoing until Friday, May 17th. Every donation, regardless of size, directly contributes to sustaining vital services offered by these organizations.

Partnerships That Make a Difference

The success of the Human Race wouldn’t be possible without the support of dedicated sponsors and partners. Redwood Credit Union, the Presenting Sponsor, demonstrated unwavering commitment with over 84 employees participating enthusiastically despite the rain. Their long-standing partnership reflects a shared vision of community empowerment and support for nonprofits.

Matt Martin, Senior Vice President of Community and Government Relations at Redwood Credit Union, expressed pride in supporting Sonoma County’s nonprofit community and the transformative work they do. The event also saw participation from other key sponsors like G and C Autobody, Hansel Auto Group, Keysight Technology, Bernstein Orthodontics, Friedman’s Home Improvement, Kaiser Permanente, Poppy Bank Epicenter, Summit State Bank, and Media, along with In-Kind Sponsors KZST and Recology Sonoma Marin.

“Redwood Credit Union has proudly supported the Human Race for over two decades, and this year’s event was particularly special. Backing CVNL’s remarkable community work year-round is a passion for us. We had the largest employee turnout ever, despite the rain at this year’s event. This reflects our pride in supporting Sonoma County’s exceptional nonprofit community and the people they serve.”
