ELP & YWCA are partnering!
Great leadership starts with just practices and the ability to work across lines of difference to transform and improve life for all of us. Many nonprofit organizations recognize the value of diversity, but struggle to maintain highly effective multicultural teams. That’s because diversity alone isn’t enough.
In our efforts to create a well-rounded and relevant curriculum for the Excellence in Leadership Program, we have seen the necessity to provide the participants with a tool to explore their intercultural development alongside their organization’s. For this reason we have partnered with YWCA San Francisco and Marin, to bring to our nonprofit leaders the Inclusion Inventory.
The Inclusion Inventory is an online assessment tool that YWCA San Francisco and Marin, has modeled on the IDI, a cross-culturally validated tool that helps individuals and organizations evaluate their intercultural competence, cultural intelligence, and global effectiveness.
Our ELP participants will be provided a login to take the survey online in advance of the ELP kick-off. Laura Eberly, Director of Social Change at YWCA, will facilitate a three-hour interactive session on day 2 of the ELP where she will present the ELP group profiles from the inventory and will provide shared language and tools to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion. ELP participants will learn how to assess their intercultural development alongside their organization’s and will gain knowledge on how to create an equitable workplace.
