Four half-day sessions, 9am – 12pm. Via Zoom.
Leading a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion shift in any organization is challenging and impactful work, best accomplished with the support of a team. CVNL’s team and faculty are here to support you!
Earn a Certificate of Completion in Leading for Equity and Inclusion!
We strongly encourage teams of 2+ professionals from each organization to enroll in order to create and lead a DEI team within your own organization. Teams will learn how to:
Build capacity & skill for authentic inclusion within your nonprofit;
Identify & dismantle harmful narratives & biased practices rooted in our history;
Adopt personal leadership skills & style that make space for real belonging & inclusion;
Develop a plan of action focused on your organization.
CVNL is pleased to offer partial scholarships to Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and under-represented individuals who are nonprofit staff or volunteers serving in Marin, Napa, Sonoma, and Solano Counties.
These scholarships are made available by generous grants from the Peter A., and Vernice H. Gasser Foundation, the Community Foundation of Sonoma County, the Solano Community Foundation, Marin Community Foundation, and U.S. Bank. Program Details
- Schedule: March 27, April 10, 24, and May 8 (Thursdays); 9am-12pm PST.
- Apply by Feb. 7 for the Early Bird discount!
- Tuition: $645 for CVNL members; $745 for non-members.
- Build capacity & skill for authentic inclusion within your nonprofit;

- Develop a plan of action focused on your organization.
- CVNL Certificate of Completion awarded to participants who complete series and course requirements.
- BIPOC scholarship available for eligible BIPOC participants who are CVNL members serving Marin, Napa, Sonoma, and Solano counties.
Schedule
Objectives:
- Explore identity in the workplace
- Explore leadership practice and challenges for driving equity and inclusion work
- Share definitions and frameworks to align understanding of equity and inclusion
Objectives:
Changing policies and procedures is a collective enterprise that requires information and involvement from key stakeholders. This session will introduce some options to help guide the assessment process and how to make sense of data for planning and evaluation.
- Unpacking best practices
- Explore tools for action
- Introduction of DEI assessments and planning tools
Learn from other individuals how they navigated the equity and inclusion journey with their organizations. Explore some best practices and identify challenges and opportunities to expect.
- Panelists TBD
- Themes: Resiliency, Accountability, and Sustainability
Objectives:
- Participants will finalize planning for how to address equity and inclusion in their workplace with input from colleagues and facilitators.
- Workshop and share action steps (break outs)
Cancellation policy: If plans change and you are no longer able to attend, we will transfer your enrollment and payment to the next program cycle. Funds must be applied and used within a 6 (six) month period. We do not offer refunds.
