Diane Hernandez is the Area Finance Officer (AFO) for Kaiser Permanente Marin-Sonoma. She drives the financial and operating performance at two medical centers, Santa Rosa and San Rafael, through capital planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting. Diane reinforces a culture of financial literacy and linking financial plans and decisions to optimize performance across the entire operating plan. She is a collaborator at the two medical centers and helps drive results in affordability, quality, workplace safety, care experience, people and community benefit.
Diane has more than 30 years of service with Kaiser Permanente. She joined the Marin-Sonoma area in 1990 where she has served in several increasingly responsible leadership roles, including Business Strategy & Finance Consultant, Staffing Office Manager in Nursing Administration, Capital Planner for Service and Delivery Strategy, Finance manager, and Associate Area Finance Officer.
In addition to her financial leadership you can find Diane providing leadership in the community. She is a graduate of the San Rafael Chamber leadership institute in 2014 and a graduate of the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber of Commerce Leadership Santa Rosa, Class 32 in 2016. She also serves on the Santa Rosa Metro Chamber’s Board of Directors. She lives in Santa Rosa with her husband, Mike and has two grown daughters.
Diane holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara.
