Spotlight on Volunteerism: National Volunteer Week

volunteer appreciationIt’s Volunteer Appreciation Week and we’re taking this time to spotlight one of our amazing volunteers!

Adriana Rabkin is a vibrant and dedicated individual who has been helping CVNL since January. She is assisting with restarting a disaster coalition agency among Marin nonprofits (MIDC). The coalition has been the vehicle in Marin County for bringing the community together to address needs during times of disaster.

Adriana has a long history of community service and altruism. “I was interested in spending some of my time volunteering while my children were in school during the day. It is a great way to learn about a new area of interest or gain experience in a new field. I volunteered for a non-profit in San Francisco years ago that turned into a paid position where I worked for 5 years” she says.

When asked why she volunteers she told us that she “[has] the opportunity to learn about a new field, contribute to my local community, and meet smart and interesting people along the way. I am also gaining great satisfaction in knowing that I am able to give back to my community in a positive way.”

We are very glad to have Adriana on our team. Her work is of tremendous value to us and the greater Marin County community!
