Local fundraiser more than just “Desserts, Purses, & Cocktails”

Annual event supports volunteerism and the nonprofit community in Sonoma County

SANTA ROSA, CA – On Saturday, February 22nd, 140 engaged community members gathered at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts to support Volunteer Center of Sonoma County’s + Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership’s (CVNL’s) 5th Annual Fundraiser, “Desserts, Purses, & Cocktails.” Attendees included local business representatives, donors, and board and staff, who enjoyed an evening of savory bites, delicious desserts, high-fashion purses, and handcrafted cocktails.

The event raised $124,305 which will support pivotal programs and services, that have expanded since the Volunteer Center and CVNL merged in 2019. Funds raised will benefit well-known programs like Secret Santa and the Human Race, and also support new offerings such as the Excellence in Leadership Program and Sonoma County’s new volunteer matching portal, “Sonoma County Volunteers.”

“Our partnership has already yielded great results in the community,” said Linda Jacobs, CEO. “We’ve leveraged our collective resources to enhance and expand mission delivery to meet the growing needs of nonprofits and volunteers, including new leadership training and workshops, the launch of a volunteer matching technology, and a revitalized Membership Program with new benefits.”

The event featured a wine wall, raffle, appetizers, desserts, silent auction lots, a live auction, and a fund-a-need.

Montgomery Village served as Presenting Sponsor. Platinum Sponsors included Kaiser Permanente, Exchange Bank, Redwood Credit Union, and Sonoma County Builders. Gold Sponsors included St. Joseph Health, Western Health Advantage, Anderson Zeigler, Community First Credit Union, Carle Mackie Power & Ross, LLP, The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International, and Craig and Judy Schulz.
