Center for Volunteer and Nonprofit Leadership Announces November 19th – Family Volunteer Day Wildfire Prevention Event on San Pedro Ridge, Marin County

Join CVNL, San Pedro Ridge Fire Safety, and California Climate Action Corps and volunteer to help make San Pedro Ridge safe from wildfire!

Marin County, CA, November 8, 2022 – Throughout the year, Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) joins others across the country to celebrate national and local days of service. A Day of Service is a set time when volunteers are encouraged to participate with nonprofit organizations, service opportunities, events, or activities to help raise awareness, build connections, and find support for programs.

Family Volunteer Day celebrates the power of families who work together to support their neighborhoods and communities. Each year, thousands of families use the day to teach children valuable lessons about compassion, caring and service, develop real-life skills, and educate them about their community.

This Family Volunteer Day, join CVNL, San Pedro Ridge Fire Safety, California Climate Action Corps and volunteer to help make San Pedro Ridge safe from wildfire!

“The volunteers of San Pedro Ridge Fire Safety are doing important work to keep our community safe and woodlands healthy. By coordinating with private landowners, the City of San Rafael, and the County of Marin, we’ve cleared invasive French Broom from the areas immediately surrounding our neighborhood. Family Volunteer Day is a great way to get more people involved in this important work.” says Robin Pendoley, Volunteer Lead of the CVNL project, San Pedro Ridge Fire Safety.
