Program Development & Program Evaluation Series
Wednesdays - May 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 9am to 12pm PST


Design thoughtful programs and earn your Program Development & Program Evaluation Certification. As your organization prepares for a post-pandemic resurgence, now is the time to plan new programs and improve your existing offerings.
 
Nonprofit organizations need to design thoughtful programs that garner stakeholder support and achieve high impacts. From needs assessments and environmental scans to stakeholder engagement, you must thoroughly understand all the steps necessary to design, implement, and evaluate successful programs.
 
Delivered via Zoom, CVNL’s Program Development & Program Evaluation Certificate will make you an expert in program design, enable your organization to fulfill its mission, and provide you with several training advantages:

PROGRAM SCHEDULE 
Session 1: Need Assessment, Best Practices, and Program Description
(Wednesday, May 1 from 9 am to 12 pm PST)
The foundation of a strong program description is based on a need assessment and best practices in the field of your program. This course will dive deeper into specific structures and processes of your program. Session will cover:
  • The process to conduct a need assessment
  • Understanding who the program will benefit
  • Exploring the resources needed from internal and external environments
  • Determine best practices and Theory of Change
 
Session 2: Designing Quality Programs
(Wednesday, May 8 from 9 am to 12 pm PST)
Designing quality programs requires clear description to allow for the team to easily create and implement services. This course will define clearly the specific structures and processes of your program. Session will cover:
  • Create a logic model
  • Create program description
  • Develop a programs’ goals & objectives
  • Develop project timeline
 
Session 3: Developing an evaluation plan
(Wednesday, May 15 from 9 am to 12 pm PST)
Program evaluation helps you understand the effectiveness of your program. What kind of analysis will the information require? The session will cover the following topics:
  • Define evaluation questions and evaluation boundaries
  • Find out the difference between formative vs summative evaluation.
  • Learn about data collection methods including surveys and interviews.
 
Session 4: Evaluation data management
(Wednesday, May 22 from 9 am to 12 pm PST)
This session focuses on the process to manage, analyze and report your data. Learn about how to benefit your program fundraising, and organizational development goals with the data. This session includes the following:
  • How to code your data
  • The process to implement data entry and analyze the data
  • Report the evaluation results


Discount:

  • 10% discount for groups of 3 of more registering from the same organization, OR
  • 10% discount for organizations with budget size < $750K, OR
  • $150 early bird discount (Early Bird Deadline: Apr 5; Early Bird discount rate automatically applied)

BIPOC Scholarship:
BIPOC scholarship is available for BIPOC participants of nonprofit organizations. Priorities are given to CVNL members.  Scholarship recipients do not have to be from a CVNL member organization. Please complete the BIPOC Scholarship Request Form.

NOTE: In order for participants to earn certificates and eBadges for the L&L programs, they must attend at least 80% of the sessions, e.g. if there are five sessions to the series, the participant may only miss one session and still earn the certificate and eBadges. 

Cancellation policy: If plans change and you are no longer able to attend, we will transfer your enrollment and payment to the next program cycle. Funds must be applied and used within a 6 (six) month period. We do not offer refunds.


Program faculty: Jessica Titel, Associate, MissionQuest
CVNL is pleased to partner with MissionQuest to offer this Program Development & Program Evaluation Certificate. MissionQuest has earned a reputation for success by partnering with hundreds of organizations in achieving their goals.
 
Jessica Titel has a Bachelor of Science in Child and Adolescent Development from Cal State Fullerton and a Master of Arts in Human Behavior from National University. She has spent over 10 years working in the family services field with various nonprofits and private agencies.
She currently teaches at Santiago Canyon College and University of the People, while also working as a Project Manager for grant writing at MissionQuest. She specializes in private, corporate, and family foundation grant writing. Jessica has extensive experience working with vulnerable, at-risk, and underrepresented populations and the community organizations that serve these populations as well. She is committed to developing and implementing fair and equitable strategies for nonprofits and cultivating diverse communities.
 
Jessica enjoys working hands-on with clients to help them achieve their fundraising and capacity building goals. In her downtime, she enjoys spending time with her children and husband doing anything outdoors!
