CVNL Bay Area Human Race, final results are in, $245,747 raised!

The results are in!

Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership (CVNL) is proud to announce the final results of the 35th Anual Bay Area Human Race™. On Saturday, May 13th, 2017, 994 adults and kids of every size and ability ran, walked, wheelchaired, or walked their dog through the 5K winding course to raise funds for causes they care about. 67 Race Day volunteers, 52 Community Village exhibitors, and hundreds of community members cheered on the participants. This year, 55 nonprofits fundraised for their causes, and over $245,747* has been raised to date for local nonprofits and causes. Did you see the final results announced in the Marin Independent Journal? The ad is shown above. We are grateful for all the sponsors that enable CVNL to produce this event and provide an important platform where organizations can highlight their mission and raise money with minimal effort, and maximum fun.

Each year, we hear stories from individuals about why they give, volunteer, or join a movement. CVNL is privileged to be the platform for these stories to have a voice — providing a way for nonprofits, schools, groups, and individuals to raise money for the causes they care most about. Many nonprofits cannot achieve the impact they want on their own: the Human Race provides logistics, marketing, training, and tools to help nonprofits reach their goals. Because we are a nonprofit ourselves, we intimately understand the need for transparency and best practices. We are pleased to share the entire analysis of the Race. Producing the Race costs over $100k each year, and because of its inclusive and collaborative nature for 35 years, it has become a beloved iconic event. From supporting those with disabilities, protecting our seniors, advocating for the arts, to those seeking to reduce barriers to health services — the Bay Area Human Race honors important work being done to better our communities.

Save the date for next year: Saturday, May 12, 2018

The phrase “it takes a village” is so true for the Bay Area Human Race that brings together organizations of all sizes to make a sector-wide impact. Mark your calendars for next year: Saturday, May 12th, 2018, and learn more here at cvnl.org/bayareahumanrace (we’ll post the latest information about the Race next year as it becomes available). Together we can achieve our mission of advancing the entire nonprofit community by giving local leaders, big and small, the skills, conections, and confidence to take their cause to the next level.
